Obama to sign 3 trade deals on Friday

WASHINGTON (AP) ? President Barack Obama plans to sign trade agreements with South Korea, Panama and Colombia on Friday, capping years of negotiations and completing U.S. action on the biggest trade deal since the North American Free Trade Agreement in 1993.

The White House says the president will sign the agreements at the White House and then make remarks in the Rose Garden. He will be joined by business, labor leaders and workers who could potentially benefit from the new pacts.

Congress approved the agreements last week, just as South Korea's President Lee Myung-bak arrived in Washington for a state visit.

South Korea's National Assembly still has to approve the agreement before it takes effect. The legislatures in Panama and Colombia have already ratified their agreements.
